Academics
We are committed to supporting your child to be academically and socially prepared for college and career. We believe all students want to learn and achieve at high levels and to grow as learners and people.
We provide instruction in the following:
- Social-Emotional Learning
- College and Career Readiness
- Core Content -- Math, Science, English Language Arts, History
- Music Theory and Performance
- Robotics, Art, Coding and Computer
Students are assessed multiple times per year to determine their skills and their growth. Individual classes use their own assessments.
Our school-wide measures are:
- Reading and Math STAR tests (September, November, January, March and June)

- Used by teachers to shape instruction and measure growth
- Reading, Writing, Math and Science Smarter Balanced Assessment in May
- Used as a summative exam to determine if students met end of year learning standards
- Required by WA state
Social-Emotional and Health Surveys
- Healthy Youth Survey (October)
- WA state assessment for grades 6 & 8 to measure youth health and behaviors
- Panorama Survey (September, February, May)
- Used by teachers and counselors to design advisory lessons and small counseling groups
